Oman participates in extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

The Sultanate of Oman participated in the twenty second extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The session discussed developments in the Federal Republic of Somalia, following Israel’s announcement recognising the so-called “Somaliland” region as an independent state.

The proceedings of the session were held in Jeddah in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of the member states and representatives of the relevant bodies. Oman’s delegation was headed by Sayyid Najib bin Hilal bin Saud Albusaidi, Ambassador Designate of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its Permanent Representative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
