Egypt: Oman at Council of Arab Communications Ministers

Ambassador Abdullah Alrahbi head of the Sultanate of Oman mission in Cairo and Oman’s Representative to League of Arab States chaired Oman’s delegation to the 29th session of the Council of Arab Ministers for Communications and Information, held in Cairo. He led the delegation on behalf of Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

In his address, Ambassador Alrahbi highlighted the importance of strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the field of cyber security. He referred to the growing cyber threats worldwide and the challenges they pose to digital infrastructure and information security.

He also reviewed the progress achieved by the Sultanate of Oman in communications and information technology outlining efforts to develop telecommunications infrastructure, expand broadband internet services, digitise government services and enhance data governance.

Ambassador Alrahbi also addressed Oman’s achievements in investing in the ICT sector, artificial intelligence and cyber security. He highlighted efforts to build national capacities, encourage innovation and apply modern technologies to improve service quality and raise economic efficiency.
